Top 5 Cruelty-Free Beauty Products With Tal's Beauty Opinion

Hi, everyone! I'm so excited to bring you this post today! This post is a collab with my blogger friend, Tal from Tal's Beauty Opinion. She is a budget friendly beauty blogger who loves beauty products (especially the natural kind) as much as I do. She focuses on cruelty-free beauty and always has interesting and informative blog posts. You can visit Tal's blog here and check out her top 5 cruelty-free beauty picks!

Today, Tal and I are each going to highlight our top 5 cruelty-free beauty products. You know, those products that you wouldn't want to live without and you'd have to run to the store to repurchase if something happened to them. Of course, I have many more favourites, but I was able to narrow it down to the 5ish in this post as my current top 5.

Also, this is only part 1 of our collab. We will have a part 2 to follow, so keep your eyes out for that.

Live Clean Pink Fire Shampoo & Conditioner

Live Clean Pink Fire Shampoo & Conditioner
Most of you know about my love for the Canadian, cruelty-free brand, Live Clean. They have some awesome products and their Pink Fire Colour Protect shampoo and conditioner made it as my top pick for best cruelty-free shampoo and conditioner. They keep my bleached and coloured treated hair vibrant and hydrated. In between testing out other products, I will always repurchase this duo! It's also budget friendly at about $6.99 each. Available at Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart.

Avalon Organics Hand & Body Lotion

Avalon Organics Hand & Body Lotion
There are a lot of great hand and body lotions that I've tried but if I had to choose just one, this is it. I rotate between the scents Ylang Yland and Lavender. It's super hydrating, smells delicious, and gets rid of those pesky bumps on the back of my arms!  On top of being cruelty-free, it's made with 70% organic ingredients. At only $10 for 12 oz, I think it's a bargain too. Note- they also make organic bath & shower gels that I have tried and also adore!

Physicians Formula Blushes & BB Cream

Physicians Formula Blushes (and Organic Wear BB Cream)
I have a lot of great blushes that I love but Physicians Formula blushes were one of the first things that popped into my mind when Tal and I decided to do this collab. They are all so gorgeous, pigmented, and long lasting. These 3 are my only PF blushes and they are all my favourites! To pick just one would be like asking a mother to pick a favourite child! haha

Shown (L-R): Argan Wear blush in Rose, Happy Booster blush in Pink, Mineral Wear blush in Rosy Glow (this one came in a kit).

Bottom:  I've thrown in my Physicians Formula Organic Wear BB cream (hope that's not cheating) because it's under the Physicians Formula brand and it's my go-to daily BB cream/ SPF.  These may not be the cheapest at the drugstore, but they are well worth it. Since tinted moisturisers and BB creams are going directly onto our skin and therefore absorbed by our skin, it's important that they're organic.

Essence Lip Products

Essence Lip Products
I don't think anyone can compete with Essence for having the best, most affordable, cruelty-free lip products. I love all of their lipsticks from their various lines, their glosses (including the xxxl ones- not pictured), and their lip liners too! They are all creamy, pigmented, and are comparable to much more expensive lip products. These retail anywhere from $1.99-$3.49.

Shown (L-R): Sheer & Shine Lipstick in Candy Love (full review on this line linked here), Lipstick in All About Cupcake, Long Lasting Lipstick in Nude Love (featured here as a cruelty-free dupe), Long Lasting Lipstick in Cool Nude, Stay With Me Lipgloss in My Favorite Milkshake, Lipliner in Satin Mauve. These are just a few lip products from my Essence lip collection.

Jordana Best Lash Extreme

Jordana Best Lash Extreme in Black
I can't believe that this mascara is only about $2.99! It gives me the big lashes that I want, with both volume and length and it doesn't flake or smudge! I think it's very comparable to Benefit's They're Real Mascara at a fraction of the price. The only difference is that I find Jordana's more difficult to remove. I don't lose any lashes, but it does take me more time and patience to remove it.

Elf Smudge Pots

Elf Smudge Pots
What can I say, I couldn't leave these guys out! So, let's just call them an honourable mention in this top 5 post. These are just fabulous! These are gorgeous cream eyeshadows/liners, although I have not tried them as liners, but as shadows- WOW! They don't dry out in the pot like some other cream eyeshadows. They are smooth, creamy, beautiful, and blend easily. They are perfect for a one shadow, slap-it-on-and-go eyeshadow look. Plus, they are great for the summer because they don't budge once they set. I would never want to live without these! Such a budget find at only $3 each.

Shown (L-R): Belle from the Disney collection, Cruisin Chic (regular line), and Beast from the Disney Collection. (Note: all of these colours are very similar. If you are interested in the limited edition Disney colours, they are available on eBay).

    1. Thanks, Angie! Yes, you have to try ELF! They have some awesome products on the cheap. They have some great makeup brushes too. My latest from them is their illuminating palette, I did a whole review on it. It's supposed to be a dupe for the Ambiant Lighting palette. It's really amazing!

  3. I'd love to try some Live Clean stuff, but I'm pretty sure it isn't sold in Australia. :o( (Although I feel like I've seen it somewhere...not sure where though.)

In terms of cruelty-free prods, my faves are The Jojoba Company, Kester Black & Trilogy, just off the top of my head. There's so many more cruelty-free brands out there these days, which is wonderful as I don't see why we need to test on animals at all anymore.

    1. Live Clean makes awesome products. Their packaging is simple and I think the line is like a hidden gem in the drugstore. Goes to show.. don't judge a shampoo by it's packaging. lol... I'm so glad more and more CF companies are coming around!

  5. It's great to be educated on which brands are cruelty free as it's not something I usually look out for - I didn't know Essence and Physicians Formula were, so yay, as I have some of their products :)
